Who are they?
The village of Stockcross lies just west of Newbury on the B4000 in West Berkshire, conveniently accessible from the M4 and A34. Each year the community comes together to put on “Stockfest”, a funfilled mix of events and activities for all ages, welcoming visitors from near and far. They are supported by Greenham Trust and, in turn, are supporting Newbury & District Cancer Care Trust.
What do they do?
Stockfest18 will run 12th – 19th August 2018, with an eclectic mix of events. For music lovers there is the EAGA Gospel Choir of Britain’s Got Talent fame, “Pop-Up Puccini” with Kennet Opera; Jazz, Swing, a steel band, accordionists, and even a fun “Singing for the terrified” session for those who just want to give it a go. There are rambles, history walks and dog walks; art workshops, mural painting, and fascinator making; kids pizza making, picnics, and hog roasts, a pop-up pub and much more including a rare breeds classic car tour of the neighbouring Berkshire and Hampshire countryside.
