Calling all bookworms! Eager to really learn how to read modern fiction in 2018? Delve a little deeper and explore how character, setting and plot are constructed and entwined through this free online course, organised by the University of Edinburgh in conjunction with the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Participants will enjoy special access to four of highly regarded novels shortlisted for the 2017 James Tait Black fiction prize, as well as a chance to hear from their authors. Go on…get under the ‘covers’ and get even more from your reading!

Online – so you can choose where to study in the comfort of your own home (or garden if the sun is out!)

When is it?

Monday 8 January 2018 – for 4 weeks. Participants are advised to allow 2 hours per week for study.

How much is it?

The course itself is free, but students can upgrade for £49 to gain unlimited access to the course material, as well as a Certificate of Achievement.
