What do we think?
Wakako Guppy runs Kitchen Wakako and gives regular Japanese cookery courses at Marlborough Summer School and other locations. Yvonne McAtamney runs Village Fabrics, the oldest quilting shop in Oxfordshire and has drawn her greatest quilting inspiration from Japan. Why not bring the two ladies together for a special Encorum event where you can taste a variety of Japanese food while talking to Yvonne about her quilting inspiration and seeing several of the pieces that she has made? Inspiration for you to try one, or both..?
What do they say?
“I was born in Nagoya, famous for its unique food culture. I grew up in a traditional Japanese family, and my mother has shaped my love of cooking today. I moved to the UK in 2012 and launched Kitchen Wakako, aiming to deliver wonderful Japanese food to this country. I am a licensed chef and FCAJ-certified food coordinator. Please come along, taste my food and chat about maybe taking Japanese cooking lessons.” (Wakako Guppy)
“We all acknowledge that in this fast paced and often stressful world, the ability to take time out to pursue a creative activity is beneficial to both physical and mental well being. Please come along and chat about the wonderful world of quilting.” (Yvonne McAtamney)
